Over the past few months I've had the opportunity to make use of a makers space in osborne park as their resident artist. The artifactory have a range of tools at the disposal of those who are capible of using them. For me it was a chance to reconnect with my trade abilities and i was able to manufacture my very own instrument design; The Chimeaphone.
The concept was rather simple, a frame that holds a series of tuned pieces of galvonised steel pipe. Prior to this build i was fascinated by making wind chimes and i decided that i was going to build an entire instrument in standard tuning using the same method. After making several sets of wind chimes i was ready to tackle a larger concept, so i got to work! Here is the end product from the build along with a taste of my performance at NM!!
