Daniel grew up in a small town south of Perth in Western Australia. From a young age he found a great interest in performing arts and involved himself in school bands, plays and productions. When he left school, he completed an apprenticeship in fitting and machining, and began producing music in a digital audio workstation.
Percussion is his most disciplined instrumental practice. He has played drums in various ensembles with genres including pub rock, jazz, funk and folk and currently plays snare drum in the city of Perth marching band. While he has limited skill playing guitar and piano, he finds them to be instrumental to the creative process when composing. In 2022 Daniel completed a Bachelor of Music with upper second-class honours at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. His time at university was largely spent seeking opportunities to collaborate with other artists. Composing music for contemporary dancers often pushed him to excel, by combining these two disciplines, the quality of the work was enhanced to a level that one may not achieve on thier own. Recent work has been focused around producing electronic music. More experimental and ambient influences seem to sway him from producing contemporary (pop style) music, though his taste for underground electronic dance music remains strong to this day. |
